Position: Director, News
Opening Date: August 7, 2024

Number of positions: 1
Status of employment: Regular - Part Time
Location: 299 Queen Street West, Toronto
Salary: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
Hours of Work: 24 hours minimum per week, evenings and weekends as required

Responsibilities
  • Direct multi-camera feeds for live CP24 programming
  • Lead the crew and on-air staff through live production and demonstrate the ability to change pace and direction under pressure
  • Communicate effectively with control room and field crews
  • Ensure quality of all production graphics and visual elements brought to air
  • Develop and implement new formats and visual presentation as required
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications
  • 5-10 years experience directing multi-camera live studio productions
  • Proven ability to direct in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to make fast competent decisions under pressure
  • Proven ability to lead a control room and studio crew
  • Thorough knowledge of production and technical requirements for live broadcasts
  • Excellent spelling and grammar skills
  • Interest and knowledge of current affairs

Job Location: Canada: Ontario: Toronto
Work Arrangement: Full-time in office (meaning that you will be required to perform your work on-site)
