Health and Safety Manager

Location: Boucherville (must be able to travel between Boucherville and Quebec City + occasionally to other depots on the North Shore and Estrie)

We are looking for a passionate individual about health and safety in the workplace to join our dynamic team You will be responsible for promoting and fostering continuous improvement in workplace health and safety, alongside your team of specialists, with a team of 4 people reporting to you.

Responsibilities:
- Daily Management: Supervise all functions related to health and safety at work with the help of your team of specialists.
- Cultural Development: Encourage a culture of health and safety among managers and employees.
- Positive Leadership: Foster team spirit, motivation, and employee satisfaction to maintain a healthy work environment.
- Policies and Procedures: Develop and implement policies and procedures related to health and safety, as well as the prevention program.
- Risk Analysis: Identify and describe the causes and consequences of identified problems to reduce the accident rate.
- Communication: Present information clearly, logically, and concisely, both in writing and publicly, using visual and graphic aids.
- Legal Compliance: Manage compliance with applicable laws, including LSST, LATMP, TMD, and monitor regulatory changes.
- CNESST: Manage coverage offered by CNESST, interpret regulatory changes, and implement necessary changes.
- Safety Initiatives: Design and monitor safety initiatives in accordance with applicable laws.
- Worker Monitoring: Collaborate with human resources and CNESST to monitor workers with adapted tasks and determine return-to-work timelines.
- SST Committee: Chair the organization's health and safety committee.
- Inspections and Audits: Represent the organization during inspections, conduct monthly inspections, and participate in safety audits.
- WHMIS: Manage the WHMIS program.
- Supplier Integration: Conduct on-site integration sessions for new suppliers and ensure they are prequalified.
- Supplier Compliance: Ensure suppliers fulfill their contractual safety obligations and monitor their compliance.
- Safety Training: Oversee safety training for operational equipment (forklifts and pallet jacks).
- First Aid Planning: Plan the presence of first aid personnel and ensure their certification is up to date.
- Fire Protection: Ensure fire protection procedures comply with provincial fire prevention codes.
- Incident Reporting: Collect, analyze, and review all incident and accident reports.
- Work Conditioning Programs: Implement and coordinate work conditioning programs and monitor their effectiveness.
- Food Safety Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food safety compliance procedures.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing, tailored to the recipient's needs.
- Bilingualism to communicate regularly with the head office in Toronto.
- Autonomy, effective time management, and ability to document work.
- Reliability and ability to work effectively both in a team and individually.
- Desire to learn, openness to change, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing, presentations, email, and various online software applications.
