Reporting to the VP, Child Development & Community Services, the Director, Development & Rehabilitation will be responsible for the leadership, management, and transformation of key clinical services at CHEO.
 

Fostering a departmental culture that is innovative, accountable, evidence-informed, and outcome focused, this Director will be responsible for the advancement of health service delivery for a comprehensive range of programs, including but not limited to occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech-language pathology, Access Team, audiology, augmentative communication, seating and mobility, child life, recreation therapy, specialty clinics, CHEO Preschool, Community Preschool, and infant and child development. They will work alongside key members of the management team in partnership with the Medical Director to lead the work of the Patient Care Leadership Team, and in collaboration with physician colleagues, staff, other CHEO leaders, patient and family partners, and community partners . The Director will be a champion for CHEO’s Integrated Treatment Centre - 1Door4Care, which will be a new 6-storey, approximately 200,000-square-foot building offering services for children and youth living with complex medical, developmental, behavioural, and mental health needs. They will work in partnership with clinicians, patients, and families to co-create an improved new model of care.
 

As the ideal candidate, you possess a minimum of 5 years’ formal leadership experience gained in a complex environment, and bring a proven ability to implement strategic initiatives, lead program development, and support the growth of budgets and teams. Highly autonomous, innovative, creative, and a motivated self-started, your organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are effectively balanced by your ability to collaborate within a variety of teams. You thrive on continually questioning and challenging the status quo, bringing a future oriented mindset to the implementation of progressive solutions and optimization of service delivery within and across departments. You value partnering with teams, patients, and families to ensure high quality and safe care, and make the most effective use of resources to ensure that children and youth have access to the services they need to thrive and live their best life.
 

You are known for your exceptional interpersonal skills that allow you to cogently communicate, motivate, and present to staff in all departments and levels, and to foster an inclusive environment that achieves results by valuing, supporting, and rewarding collaboration. A robust understanding of health care operations spanning acute and community-based services will serve you well in this role, as will your experience and natural curiosity monitoring global trends within the industry with an eye on continuous improvement in patient care.

Relevant de la vice-présidente du développement de l’enfant et des services communautaires, le directeur ou la directrice du développement et de la réadaptation est responsable du leadership, de la gestion et de la transformation des principaux services cliniques au CHEO.
 

Favorisant une culture novatrice, responsable, éclairée par des données probantes et axée sur les résultats au sein du service, la personne à ce poste est également responsable de l’avancement de la prestation des services de santé pour une gamme complète de programmes, notamment, l’ergothérapie, la physiothérapie, l’orthophonie, l’équipe d’accueil, l’audiologie, la communication suppléante, le positionnement et la mobilité, les spécialistes du milieu de l’enfant, la récréothérapie, les cliniques spécialisées, le programme préscolaire du CHEO, le programme préscolaire en milieu communautaire et le développement du nourrisson et de l’enfant. La personne titulaire de ce poste travaillera aux côtés de membres clés de l’équipe de gestion en partenariat avec la directrice médicale pour diriger le travail de l’équipe de direction des soins aux patients et en collaboration avec des collègues médecins, des membres du personnel, d’autres dirigeants du CHEO ainsi que des partenaires (patients et patientes, membres de la famille, membres de la communauté) . De plus, le ou la titulaire fera la promotion de 1lieupourallermieux, un centre de traitement intégré du CHEO, qui sera un nouvel immeuble de six étages d’environ 200 000 pieds carrés offrant des services aux enfants et aux jeunes ayant des besoins complexes en matière de soins médicaux, de développement, de comportement et de santé mentale. Il ou elle travaillera en partenariat avec les cliniciennes et cliniciens, les patientes et patients et les familles pour créer conjointement un nouveau modèle de soins amélioré.
 

Comme personne idéale pour ce poste, vous devez avoir au moins cinq ans d’expérience officielle en leadership acquise dans un environnement complexe et une capacité éprouvée à mettre en œuvre des initiatives stratégiques, à diriger l’élaboration de programmes et à soutenir la croissance des budgets et des équipes. Vous êtes très autonome, faites preuve d’innovation, de créativité et de motivation et vos compétences en matière d’organisation, d’analyse, de résolution de problèmes et de prise de décisions sont efficacement contrebalancées par votre capacité à collaborer au sein de diverses équipes. Vous remettez continuellement en question le statu quo et adoptez un état d’esprit axé sur l’avenir pour la mise en œuvre de solutions progressives ainsi que l’optimisation de la prestation de services au sein des services et entre eux. Vous accordez de l’importance aux partenariats avec les équipes, les patients et patientes et les familles afin d’assurer des soins de grande qualité et sécuritaires. Vous utilisez les ressources de la façon la plus efficace possible pour veiller à ce que les enfants et les jeunes aient accès aux services dont ils ont besoin pour s’épanouir et vivre pleinement leur vie.
 

Vos compétences interpersonnelles sont exceptionnelles et vous permettent de communiquer avec le personnel de tous les services et niveaux, de le motiver et de lui faire des présentations, et de favoriser un environnement inclusif qui permet d’obtenir des résultats en valorisant, en soutenant et en récompensant la collaboration. Une solide compréhension des opérations de soins de santé couvrant les services de soins actifs et les services communautaires vous sera très utile dans ce rôle, tout comme votre expérience et votre curiosité naturelle pour surveiller les tendances mondiales au sein de l’industrie en vue de l’amélioration continue des soins.
