SAP EAM Functional Consultant

Job Title SAP EAM Functional Consultant Location Montreal, QC (requires travel to project/client locations) Role Overview The SAP EAM Functional Consultant will enable and validate Enterprise Asset Management processes during the S/4HANA brownfield conversion program for a railroad organization. The role focuses on process alignment, integration validation, configuration adjustments, and testing to ensure compliance with mandated changes and seamless transition from ECC to S/4HANA. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution. Three years of progressive experience in the specialty may be considered in lieu of each year of education. At least 11 years of experience in information technology. Authorized to work for any employer in Canada without employer‑based visa sponsorship. Key Responsibilities Process & Functional Alignment – Conduct EAM process mapping; review SAP Simplification Item List and document mandatory changes; validate asset & inspection processes; facilitate functional alignment workshops. Integration & Data – Validate integration scenarios with MM, FI-AA, SD, CFIN, TIS, and PS; perform master data review; define data migration strategy. Configuration & Compliance – Update configuration elements; review and update SOX controls impacted by process changes. Testing & Documentation – Prepare unit test plans; execute unit tests, log defects, perform root cause analysis, maintain resolution documentation; update functional specifications and integration documents. Project Deliverables EAM process mapping and documentation based on Simplification Item List. Integration validation of EAM functionalities with S/4HANA. Data migration strategy for EAM objects. SOX controls update and testing documentation. Unit test plan and execution results for remediated custom functionality. Updated functional specifications for WRICEF objects. Required Skills & Experience SAP EAM expertise in ECC and S/4HANA environments. Strong understanding of maintenance planning, work orders, notifications, and preventive maintenance processes. Experience with integration points: MM, FI-AA, SD, PS, and CFIN. Knowledge of SOX compliance, FRA and audit documentation. Hands‑on experience in data migration strategy and unit testing. Excellent communication and workshop facilitation skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience in railroad or transportation industry. Familiarity with brownfield conversion projects. SAP certification in EAM or Plant Maintenance. Assumptions Existing mobile applications remain unchanged; no redesign expected. No adoption of new S/4HANA EAM features (AIN, Predictive Maintenance). CN does not use IBIP Batch Input for transactional data creation. Synchronization of locomotive hierarchical asset structure is not part of the conversion scope.
