Graduate Nurse- Medical ICU- Nights

A critical member of the Occupational Health Team, the RN has the knowledge, skill, judgement and abilities to contribute in all phases of the continuum of client care. HHS is seeking a *Registered Nurse* with experience in *Occupational Health* and/or *Emergency Medicine.*
The candidate is a natural team player who is loyal, dedicated, detail-oriented with excellent communication skills, and a proven professional who recognizes the importance of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate confidence by relying on foundational knowledge, critical thinking and clinical judgement in the work place.
This successful candidate will be providing nursing support in the form of emergency response and/or risk based health assessments at the health center for one of our oil sands clients. The schedule for this position is 4 on, 4 off, 5 on, 5 off. *This position is located in Fort McMurray, AB.*

*Duties and Responsibilities:*
· Ensure that injured workers are provided with immediate and professional on-site medical care, and to advise and/or arrange timely transport to a medical facility
· Always act in a manner that ensures the client’s dignity, safety, privacy, and confidentiality
· Providing risk based health assessments
· Be familiar with work in accordance with health and safety legislation and company policies and procedures
· Take reasonable care to use safety and personal protective equipment as required by health and safety legislation and company policies and procedures
· Refuse work if danger is imminent or not controlled
· Read, understand, and comply with the company's Medical Control Guidelines, Safety policies and Job Procedures, as well as applicable government laws and regulations
· Work within their applicable scope of practice determined by their licensing body and under the medical control of the Syncrude medical director, utilizing the company's Medical Control Guidelines
*Qualifications:*
*· Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Emergency/Acute Care/Occupational Health setting or equivalent experience*
· Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse or Bachelor of Nursing program
· Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA)
· An OHN certificate/diploma is an asset
· Willing to complete Advanced Cardiac Life Support and International Trauma Life Support course
· Experience with audiometry and spirometry
· Complete site-specific orientation as required
· Current Standard Field Level Tickets, H2S Alive, Standard First Aid, CSTS, Common Safety Orientation is an asset
· Previous experience in Industrial or Oil & Gas sector is an asset
· Medically and physically fit to provide emergency response functions
· Physically capable of working in adverse weather environment and conditions
· Willingness to work shift work, including nights
· Ability to successfully obtain clearance for a pre-employment alcohol & drug screen

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50.00-$58.00 per hour
