MRI Technologist – Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre Join our dynamic team as a key member of our Medical Imaging department. You will play a crucial role in all aspects of MRI, delivering high-quality, patient-centered care and engaging in continuous learning, research, and quality improvement. Job Summary & Requirements We are seeking a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist to perform all required MRI examinations as prescribed by physicians, following relevant protocols and procedures. Modify standard work procedures in emergency situations. Collaborate with various teams (pacemaker clinic, anesthesia, radiation therapy planning). Experience with cardiac imaging and breast biopsies preferred. Registered in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation & Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO). Completion of a Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) program. Ideal Candidate Profile Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and exercise independent judgement. Ability to function independently. Ability to assess requests and prioritize them for prompt patient care. Adapts standard procedures to emergency situations. Commitment to continued professional growth through continuing education. Compassion and respect for patients, families, and support persons. Working knowledge of RHPA and related standards of practice. Identifies and recommends process improvement opportunities. Works independently and cooperatively as part of a team. Recent satisfactory performance appraisal. Recent satisfactory attendance record. No recent disciplinary events. Responsibilities Perform all required MRI examinations as prescribed by physicians in accordance with relevant protocols and procedures. Maintain a strong team environment among MRI technologists, MRI technologist assistants, and imaging nursing team. Perform a large variety of MRI specialty procedures, including cardiac imaging and breast biopsies. Collaborate with the Pacemaker Clinic to perform MRI exams on patients with MRI conditional pacemakers. Coordinate with the Anesthesia team to provide MRI access to young children and patients with special needs. Perform MRI studies to assist radiation therapy planning.
