Overview Global Banking and Markets Engineering (GBME) is the fast-moving, award-winning technology engine that powers Scotiabank’s Corporate, Investment Banking and Capital Markets businesses. The role supports these teams by bringing application performance expertise using Dynatrace and related tools. Responsibilities Utilize Dynatrace to monitor application health and troubleshoot issues. Implement performance monitoring strategies for GBM applications. Conduct performance testing (load, stress, endurance) and analyze results to identify bottlenecks. Collaborate with development teams to optimize code, queries, and configurations for better performance. Provide recommendations for capacity planning and scalability improvements. Develop dashboards and reports to communicate performance metrics to stakeholders. Participate in incident response and root cause analysis for performance-related issues. Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in application performance engineering. Skills & Qualifications 10+ years of experience in application performance engineering using Dynatrace. Strong proficiency with Dynatrace. Knowledge of performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner). Solid understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud environments. Experience with scripting languages (Python, Shell) and automation frameworks. Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills. Experience with modern programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, Spring Boot, SQL). Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have) Experience with automated deployment. Understanding of observability principles. Capital Markets product knowledge. Cloud and Kubernetes experience.
