About the Role:

You’ve always loved it, now be part of it Ferrero Brantford, where we proudly produce Nutella, Tic Tac, Nutella&Go, and Ferrero Rocher is looking for current students who are eager to start exploring a career in the thriving food manufacturing sector to join as a Project Engineering Intern for the January - August 2025 term.

Central to Ferrero’s global success has been the deeply rooted culture of “learning by doing.” At Ferrero’s largest manufacturing center in North America, you’ll see firsthand a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility and provide hands-on support to our Project Managers and Project Engineers.

You will:
  1. Shadow daily activities and see what it takes to execute major investment projects from conception to design, execution, and commissioning/start-up.
  2. Be provided the opportunity to make impactful contributions to groundbreaking projects.
  3. Dive into challenging problems and gain invaluable experience in your field, working in a dynamic office environment with diverse teams both locally and globally.

Being curious, collaborative, self-motivated, quick to deliver, and having a strong interest in developing a career in Food Manufacturing are critical characteristics for the right candidate. Excellent project management skills, proficiency with Excel, AutoCAD, and MS Project will be major assets. This position is 100% on-site. This is a PAID 8-month Internship up to $29/hr.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Develop drawings/sketches (AutoCAD 2D-3D) and technical specs as part of feasibility studies.
  2. Prepare tender packages and participate in the tender phase for the selection of external suppliers.
  3. Check contractor's activities (engineering companies, machines providers, general contractors).
  4. Monitor project costs and time schedule.
  5. Resolve manufacturing issues in a timely and effective manner.
  6. Ensure manufacturing adherence to standard practices and create or modify procedures where required.
  7. Improve and standardize existing processes through innovation and collaboration.
  8. Demonstrate leadership in the development and implementation of projects.
  9. Develop templates and tools for project portfolio management.
  10. Technical purchasing, documentation management using SAP.
Who we are looking for:
  1. Currently enrolled in 3rd year, or higher, in a post-secondary degree program; or a recent graduate with an Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical/Automation, Chemical Engineering or other engineering background.
  2. Familiarity with Project Management, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, MS Project, AutoCAD.
  3. Prior exposure or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment will be considered an asset.
  4. Ability to work in a team and prioritize work effectively.
  5. Analytical problem solvers with excellent computer skills.
  6. Proactive, takes initiative and curious.
  7. A strong drive to research and uncover solutions.
