Job Summary

This company is seeking an Upstream Facilities Engineering Specialist to work with the Unconventional Reservoir Engineering Department under the Unconventional Resources Admin Area. The specialist will be responsible for developing Unconventional Upstream Facilities for capital and annual projects, including Gas Compression Plants, Gas Processing Plants, Early Production Facilities, Wellhead tie-ins, and Pipelines hydraulic network design. Responsibilities include providing updates on budget and project progress, leading engineers, participating in engineering standard reviews, and developing young professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop conceptual scope of work for oil and gas upstream facilities and review engineering design packages.
  • Create annual business plans and long-term investment plans.
  • Possess expertise in risk assessment approaches and conducting HAZOP studies related to upstream facilities.
  • Develop and analyze pipe hydraulic simulation models of three-phase flow using PC-based software packages such as PIPESIM, OLGA, and HYSYS.
  • Conduct artificial lift studies, exploring various scenarios and options with cost analysis.
  • Provide cost optimizations and perform economic analyses to identify the most cost-effective alternative for upstream facilities development.

Requirements:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognized and approved program. An MSc or PhD is desirable but not required.
  • Possess a minimum of 15 years of experience in an Oil & Gas organization, with at least 5 years in project-related work.
  • Be familiar with various aspects of Oil & Gas operations including wellhead operation, pipeline hydraulics for three-phase flow, gas distribution systems, gas plants, oil processing facilities, oil and gas gathering systems, and exposure to downstream processes.
  • Have extensive experience in project-type work including design, funding, materials acquisition, construction, and commissioning. Also capable of identifying design specifications and recommending improvements and economies in this area.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of cost estimating pertaining to projects and be able to explain over/under runs in expenditures.
  • Desirable to have production engineering experience, reservoir engineering knowledge, and downhole well completions knowledge as studies encompassing these issues will be expected.
