Reporting to the Quality Group Leader, the Quality Inspector Final Assembly will formally report non-compliance and will be a link between relevant role players ensuring that the appropriate corrective actions are implemented.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Complete inspections in boats on the assembly lines and ensure that the inspections are in line with the Quality standards.
• Raise the relevant corrective actions for quality issues identified on the lines.
• Compile defects lists and update workstation boards.
• Ensure that Quality data is captured and analyzed on a daily basis.
• Ensure that the Quality server is updated regularly with accurate information.
• Provide feedback to stakeholders at meetings regarding Quality at Primary and Final Assembly.
• Complete inspections offline when needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum: NQF Level 4 qualification.
• Ideal: National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Production Management/Engineering or related field
• Experience: At least 2-3 yrs.
• Math’s literacy essential
• Have a firm understanding of, and passion for, quality standards;
• Excellent timekeeping and attendance records;
• Ability to work under pressure and without supervision;
• Strong attention to detail and very process driven;
• You must have knowledge and understanding of the production processes involved in building hull and decks;
• Final Assembly experience advantageous;
• Knowledge and experience of carpentry and knowledge of systems and deck fitting advantageous;
• Knowledge of gelcoat finishing;
• Knowledge of deck bonding and bonding of bulkheads advantageous.

COMPETENCIES:

• Knowledge and understanding of the relevant quality standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and without supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and very process driven.
• Ability to read drawings.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Excel.
• Meticulous approach to inspecting components and recording Quality information.
• 20/20 Vision (Use of spectacles is an option)
