Position Available

This Hybrid position is available at several locations in Western Canada: Calgary, Edmonton, and Lethbridge. Laporte's Western Region subsidiary has the following full-time permanent position opening:

Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Building (HVAC) Responsibilities
  1. Develop designs, mechanical drawings, and specifications, project schedules, and budgets.
  2. Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary design team.
  3. Provide mentorship to junior technical personnel.
  4. Support project management requirements.
  5. Provide construction supervision, conduct document and field reviews for assigned projects.
  6. Support positive client interactions and business development activities including proposal preparation.
  7. Prepare and conduct presentations to clients.
Key Requirements
  • Education: Eng. registration in BC and/or AB; BS or MS degree in Mechanical engineering.
  • Experience: Intermediate/Senior engineer with 5 to 10 years of experience in building and industrial HVAC, plumbing & drainage, refrigeration, steam, hot water, and fire protection system design.
  • Additional Skills: Experience in process engineering (light industrial, food and beverage, or pharmaceutical facilities) is an asset. Knowledge of relevant industry codes and regulations. Ability to travel to client sites in Canada and the USA. Familiarity with lean manufacturing and food safety is an asset.
