The successful applicant will be a Senior Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer with a proven technical and project management track record. The role will include the execution of complex and major programs, supporting complex proposals, mentoring of junior staff, as well as act as technical reference, and therefore good communication skills are essential.

Location: Winnipeg, MB

Your role within the team:

  1. Candidates should have the right flare and ability that will help us develop and expand our mining and industrial geotechnics capability by building on the existing portfolio of our rapidly expanding, flexible and outward looking team that can tackle work across a broad spectrum of sectors.
  2. Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Geology and have a minimum of 1 years’ pertinent experience.
  3. Extensive experience in one or more of the following sectors: highways, rail, municipal, industrial, mining, commercial or residential geotechnics.
  4. A strong academic background with a relevant degree (ideally MSc or equivalent).
  5. Eligible for a Professional Engineering License as P.Eng. in Manitoba, with existing registration or registered in another Canadian province at the moment.
  6. Proven experience of acting in a senior role in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
  7. Project management - experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets, including relationships with clients, and work planning.
  8. Proven geotechnical design experience.
  9. Application of Design Standards and Guidelines in a design and ground investigation environment.
  10. Proven geohazards and geotechnical investigation experience.
  11. Experienced in general geotechnical numerical software.
  12. Excellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to support the development of teams.
  13. Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients.
  14. Excellent report writing skills with the ability to peer-review and produce quality deliverables.
  15. A willingness to travel on short assignments both within Manitoba, Saskatchewan and nationwide.
  16. A valid driving license.
