Position Summary
The North Coast Community Services Society (NCCS) has a position available for a
Program Director in the incredible community of Prince Rupert where adventure abounds. A port city on
British Columbia’s northwest coast, Prince Rupert offers unparalleled access to outdoor adventure, epic
fishing, wildlife viewing plus rich local culture. Explore the uniqueness of the Metlakatla Wilderness Trail and
the many other Hiking, Paddling , and Skiing options in the region. Immerse in the rich natural and cultural
heritage of the Northwest Coast. Take advantage of access to Vancouver Island, Haida Gwaii, and the Central

The Job
NCCS offers a variety of programs and services to children, youth, and families in Prince Rupert and
the wider geographic area that includes Haida Gwaii. As a member of the senior leadership team, under the
supervision of the Executive Director, the Program Director plays a key role in strategic planning, operational
oversight, policy and budget development, and change management initiatives. Primary responsibilities also
include:
Duties and Responsibilities
• Supervision and evaluation of program employees to ensure service deliverables, policy adherence,
and reporting requirements are met.
• Needs identification for and coordination of employee training and professional development.
• Participation in planning and coordinating the outreach and fundraising activities that promote the NCCS Society and its programs and services.
- Management of programs to ensure effective service delivery consistent with contractual requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
NCCS is looking for an individual who holds the fundamental belief that each individual

as well as a vision of the future that will address complex community needs.
• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in any field related to providing supports to children and
families: social work, early childhood education, education, nursing, pediatric rehabilitation
therapy (OT, SLP, PT), psychology, or business education.
• Four years of relevant leadership experience related to providing services to children and families
in a supervisory capacity within a union environment OR, an equivalent combination of education and experience deemed acceptable by the employer.
• Understand, demonstrate and maintain professional boundaries with co-workers, clients andother
stakeholders
• Clear Criminal Record Review
• Physical ability to meet job requirements
• Class 5 driver's license, clear driver's abstract and daily access to and use of vehicle
