We are seeking a Foreman with a solid background in switch gear, manufacturing, and industrial high voltage. Your leadership skills and your extensive experience have earned you the ability to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. You are well-organized and favor safety above everything else.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise, direct and assist with day-to-day operations of production personnel
  • Schedule, assign and coordinate worker tasks/activities to meet established production deadlines
  • Complete project-specific design layouts and material take-offs (and assist project leads with such)
  • Fabricate, assemble and install project components following applicable design drawings, BOMs, client specifications, regulatory codes, and industry/trade best practices
  • Ensure the effective supply, organization, storage, handling, and traceability of project materials
  • Organize/maintain shop and work area layout and general housekeeping to optimize safety and productivity
  • Train and mentor journeymen and apprentices in trade skills, techniques, and technical knowledge
  • Monitor workmanship to ensure worker compliance with established quality processes/procedures, client specifications and applicable regulatory standards (identify and resolve non-conformances)
  • Schedule, coordinate, and assist with required QA inspection, testing, documentation, and recordkeeping
  • Liaise with Plant Manager, Project Managers, other trades/departments, contractors, and client representatives to ensure the appropriate and efficient conduct of production and QA activities
  • Plan/conduct/document shop safety meetings and compliance with established safety policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

  • Journeyman electrician certificate, EET or other formal relevant training
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in a related manufacturing or field construction/service environment
  • Competence in reading & interpreting design drawings/specifications
  • Experience with QA/QC testing and inspection (Hi-pot & Megger Testing, documentation, and recordkeeping)
  • Strong organizational, leadership, problem-solving, communication, conflict resolution, and time management skills
  • Experience in development and/or administration of workplace HSE and QMS programs (preferred)
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and standard office equipment
