Role Summary

As a Claims Adjuster, you will handle the investigation and evaluation of various personal and commercial insurance claims, assess damages, and negotiate settlements on behalf of insurance companies or self-insured individuals. This role involves evaluating multi-line claims, particularly focusing on property and casualty (commercial and personal lines) claims through thorough loss investigations. You will be responsible for negotiating settlements in line with provincial licensing requirements, while maintaining high production levels and strong customer relationships. This role is fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Investigate, evaluate, and negotiate settlements for personal and commercial insurance claims.
  • Conduct thorough loss investigations for property and casualty claims.
  • Maintain compliance with provincial licensing requirements.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Ensure adequate production levels are met.
  • Draft memos for supervisor review and approval.
  • Manage a full caseload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Interpret commercial policies and provide recommendations.

Ideal Candidate

  • Background: Experience in construction and property, specializing in project management, quantification, and appraisal.
  • Policy Expertise: Strong understanding of commercial policy interpretation.
  • Experience: Making market recommendations based on claims evaluations.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years in claims handling within an insurance environment.
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in understanding and applying commercial/personal lines policy terms.
  • Strong report writing skills.
  • Effective organizational skills with a robust diary system.
  • Ability to manage a full caseload in a fast-paced setting.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
  • CIP and/or FCIP designation (licensed or in progress).
  • AMF Commercial License (for Quebec Applicants only)
  • Adjuster License.
  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
  • Quick learner of new IT applications.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Team player with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with career growth opportunities.
  • Advantage: Prior experience with Third-Party Administrators (TPAs).
