We are looking for an Infrastructure Specialist for a 12-month contract position, with possible extensions in Regina, Saskatchewan. Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Role Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Specialist with 8 (eight) years of experience. The candidate will possess skills in IT infrastructure design and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and plan architecture of IT infrastructure (servers, storage, networks)
  • Oversee hardware installation, evaluate and configure physical hardware (servers, storage devices) and software operating systems
  • Responsible for system administration, including managing and configuring servers and networks to ensure optimal security measures are implemented
  • Monitor systems for performance and errors
  • Implement data protection by implementing backup strategies and mitigation practices
  • Administer security management by identifying, implementing and monitoring alert and detection systems and database servers
  • Stand up, configure, monitor and tune industry standard application servers (JBOSS)
  • Administer, operate and implement VM environments and cloud environments
  • Design, implement and update database environments including operational administration, maintenance, and backups
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to document essential and critical services, foundational infrastructure, ongoing and emergency processes
  • Conduct Hazard Risk Vulnerability Assessments (HRVA) and Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and other security risk assessments
  • Develop and refine BCP and DR plans related to critical services and infrastructure such as WAN services, hosted server and application services, data center and WAN environments, cloud environments
  • Implement, test and audit EM, BCM, and DR plans and solutions
Required Skills and Experience
  • Education at the University or Technical Institute level in one of the following: Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology
  • Minimum eight (8) years of experience as an Infrastructure Technical Analyst
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience managing and holding third party vendors accountable
  • Minimum five (5) years experience with system migration/data migration projects
  • Minimum of three (3) years of IT and telecom experience preferred, with experience within the last seven (7) years
  • Proven experience in managing and prioritizing large, multiple complex projects including but not limited to SSO, VPN, Performance, Monitoring, Tuning
  • Cloud Infrastructure Certification is an asset (GCP, Azure)
  • Network Security Certification is an asset (CISSP, CompTIA)
