Mechanical Engineer

If this sounds like you, TWD may have the position you’ve been looking for At TWD Technologies, we are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Sarnia, Ontario team.

Job Summary

The Intermediate Mechanical Engineer is responsible for planning, organizing, and execution of various aspects of mechanical engineering, piping engineering, and design support. This will include participating as a member of dynamic project teams with a wide range of types of tasks. The position will provide the opportunity to work in a number of industries in which TWD services including Oil Sands, Refining, Chemical, and Power.

Job Duties
  1. Supervise, perform, and check most types of calculations and design using both computer-aided and manual techniques.
  2. Provide assistance to the Dept. Manager in areas such as schedules, estimates, progress reports, meetings, procurement, activities, etc.
  3. Perform self-check of completed work, develop self-confidence, and provide guidance to less experienced engineers.
  4. Exhibit thorough understanding of pertinent codes and governing regulations and industry practices, etc.
Requirements – Job Specific

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
P.Eng. in Ontario
Knowledge of Piping and Static/Rotating equipment
Experienced in Plant 3D/Ceasar II
Familiarity with the design of distribution related electrical systems is considered an asset
Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principals
Able to conduct detailed calculations to ensure that designs meet engineered standards and applicable codes
Experience with multiple phases of projects including preliminary and detailed design, tendering, construction supervision, and commissioning is an asset
Excellent communication skills both oral and written
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with a range of personalities to establish effective working relationships with the required stakeholders
