One of our manufacturing clients in Hamilton, ON region is looking for a Garage Mechanic for their facility.

Shift: Days and Afternoon

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough inspections of heavy-duty equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot problems and determine necessary repairs.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, lubrication, and filter replacements.
  • Weld and fabricate as needed for structural repairs.
  • Diagnose and address malfunctions in engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Repair and replace defective or damaged parts, components, and systems.
  • Ensure that all repairs and maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations and standards.
  • Identify and report potential safety hazards or concerns associated with heavy equipment operation.
  • Coordinate with parts and supply departments to order and procure necessary components.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a 421a certification.
  • Profound understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Competence in reading and interpreting equipment manuals and schematics.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues.
