Job descriptionOverview:Reporting to the Garden Project Coordinator, Cultivation in Acheson, AB, the Cannabis Trimmer is responsible for the care and growth lifecycle of cannabis plants within a licensed facility. The Trimmer performs tasks to support growing processes including but not limited to cloning, pruning, defoliation, and transplanting ensuring production of high quality, healthy and prolific cannabis plants. The Trimmer maintains a clean healthy and pleasant environment where plants and people can grow. The Trimmer may also be required to be generally available to assist in other areas of the production process and the business.Responsibilities:Clean the cropsMixing fertilizerTrain trees to produce more fruit of higher qualityWrite daily basic progress reportsAssist in pruning trees, shrubs and plantsMix and prepare soilsTransplant seedlings or rooted cuttingsApply fertilizersReport signs of insect or disease damageClean work areaClean machines and immediate work areasOrganize tasks to accomplish the workFollow emergency and safety proceduresPerform preventive maintenanceAssist process control and machine operators in performing their dutiesEnsure hygiene and sanitation practices conform to policies and regulationsConsult with production supervisor to schedule production runs in a cost and time-efficient mannerEnsure accuracy and compliance to accounting standards, procedures and internal controlClean and maintain work spaceCheck products and packaging for basic quality defectsCommunicate with other workers to co-ordinate the preparation and completion of work assignmentsEnsure compliance with government regulationsOversee preparation of site for species cultivationWork conditions and physical capabilities:Fast-paced environmentRepetitive tasksPhysically demandingStanding for extended periodsBending, crouching, kneelingAttention to detailHand-eye co-ordinationOvertime requiredWork under pressureManual dexterityPay: $17.00-$18.00 per hourExpected hours: 40 per weekBenefits:Dental careDisability insuranceExtended health careLife insuranceOn-site parkingPaid time offVision careFlexible Language Requirement:French not requiredSchedule:Monday to FridaySupplemental pay types:Overtime payWork Location: In person
