Aviva has an excellent opportunity in our Small, Medium and Enterprise (SME) commercial insurance business unit. Currently, we are seeking a Commercial Auto Underwriter to join our team at the Ottawa Branch.

What You’ll Do:

Assess and evaluate the risk for new and existing business (Fleet, Garage)
Analyze reports to resolve adequate exposure and loss ratings.
Maintain awareness of market trends, pricing levels and policy form amendments.
Manage and negotiate renewal terms for the retention of business.
Apply loss control and risk management practices in the underwriting process.
Respond to inquiries from brokers regarding modification to policy files in a timely and efficient manner.
Work with brokers to develop new businesses.
Build and maintain excellent broker relationships and management of assigned broker portfolios.
Provide excellent customer service.

What You’ll Bring:

1+ years of commercial Auto underwriting (Fleet, Garage) experience.
CIP is a strong asset
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and administration skills.
Highly motivated and hard-working.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Good digital literacy.
Knowledge of the RTM system is an asset.
