Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Driver Supervisor to join our team in London, Ontario. You will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet of drivers for the following locations: London, Windsor West, Windsor East, Woodstock, and Wallaceburg. Qualified candidates will be self-driven and demonstrate exceptional workplace safety standards, attention to detail, efficiency, customer service, continuous improvement and strong verbal and written communication skills.
What you're responsible for:
- Supervising and managing a team of drivers for the western locations
- Providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure optimal performance
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations, safety regulations and procedures
- Working closely with a team of drivers and dispatchers to ensure timely service to our customers
- Scheduling and coordinating driver assignments, routes, and deliveries to meet operational goals and customer demands.
- Monitoring driver performance, conduct regular performance evaluations, and implement improvement plans when necessary.
- Ensuring compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies, including safety standards and vehicle maintenance
- Maintaining accurate records and reports related to driver activities, performance, and incidents
Qualifications
To join our team:
- AZ or DZ license preferred, roll-off or lugger experience is an asset
- 2+ years experience in a supervisory role
- 5+ years experience in the transportation, logistics, or solid waste industry
- In-depth knowledge of transportation regulations, safety protocols, and compliance requirements
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse team
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a track record of making effective decisions under pressure
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office and transportation management software and technology for tracking and reporting
- GEOTAB experience is an asset
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed, available by phone after-hours
- Occasional travel to the US is required to support our Michigan/Ohio sites
