More about your role:
As a LegalSpecialist within our Group legal team, your primary responsibilitywill be to provide specialist advice and to deal claims against theGroup in the area of housing disrepair litigation.
KeyAccountabilities:
- Act as a specialist within thelegal team, demonstrating judgement, experience, and reasoning inhousing disrepair litigation.
- Review and organise theGroup's legal approach to dealing with disrepair.
- Reduceexternal legal spend on housing disrepair litigation for Group bydealing with litigation and negotiating commercial settlements withcustomers solicitors in terms of compensation and costs.
- Provide direct and immediate feedback about the costs ofsettlement and the time needed to settle litigation to the relevantinternal stakeholders.
- Simplify relevant legal materials andissues to make them understandable for colleagues.
- Review,prepare, and draft a range of documents including standardcorrespondence, operational policies, operational procedures andadvising on any relevant elements of compliance (with external orinternal standards) in relation to area of disrepair and other areaslinking to it as required.
- Train and develop the skills ofcolleagues working with disrepair and provide support to other partsof the business to understand how disrepair claims work, approaches toaddress it and the effects of disrepair on the business.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of businessprocesses by addressing disrepair issues in a business context.
- Handle day-to-day legal responsibilities across allbusinesses/departments as part of the wider legal team.
Qualification:
QualifiedSolicitor/Chartered Legal Executive in England and Wales with 4 yearsPQE experience in housing disrepair litigation.
