The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Manager of Commissioning Engineering to join our team. If you have a passion for delivering high-quality projects, a proven track record in managing and growing teams, and a strong background in engineering, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity In this position, you will lead a team of commissioning engineers and technologists, who work closely with cross-functional teams within Saltworks and our industry-leading clients to successfully drive projects to completion. Your responsibilities will include creating and overseeing project commissioning plans and resources, mentoring and training commissioning teams, collaborating with project stakeholders, and ensuring customer excellence. This role has significant room for advancement. You will work closely with senior leaders at Saltworks who will support you. In turn, you will gain leadership skills by growing and developing your team.
Responsibilities Include:- Lead the delivery of innovative clean technology solutions, leveraging your technical expertise and leadership skills.
- Oversee the entire commissioning project lifecycle while working closely with our Project Management Office (PMO) and engineering teams to commission systems/plants at our factory and customer sites.
- Engage in comprehensive commissioning planning, encompassing budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, and procedure/standard development for factory and site commissioning.
- Implement standardized and efficient commissioning processes while enhancing our cutting-edge industrial desalination and resource recovery plants.
- Represent Saltworks at customer job sites.
- Collaborate with your team to deliver high-quality system/plant commissioning and ensure a seamless handover to customers (international travel will be required).
- Bring forward design feedback, driving continuous improvement and innovation within our engineering teams.
- Become a subject matter expert, enabling you to keep and expand technical skills while also developing project management and people management skills.
- A relevant engineering degree.
- The ability to register as a P.Eng. with EGBC.
- 7-15 years of relevant working experience as an engineer in an industrial setting.
- Willingness to travel internationally without restrictions.
- A proven track record of delivering high-quality commissioning work in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Proficiency in hydrostatic testing, mechanical and electrical commissioning, process control commissioning, and field commissioning.
- Familiarity with industrial safety standards for mechanically and electrically energized systems.
- Exceptional critical thinking skills and troubleshooting mindset.
- Successful managerial experience in developing, growing, and managing a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, ability to organize and prioritize work, attention to detail, strong commitment to quality, leadership capabilities, positive attitude, and willingness to learn new skills.
