DevOps Specialist

This position requires the candidate to work collaboratively and proactively with the Technology Evaluation Centers (TEC) Development Team, Support Team, and IT Operations Team to manage code releases and establish DevOps practices across the organization.

This involves identifying strategies to help the business grow with faster processes in DevOps and IT. The candidate will work collaboratively with other professionals in the organization to identify opportunities to automate, monitor, test, and deploy effective software solutions. Successful candidates are committed to learning new processes and technologies that will help improve business operations.

• Design, build and configure automated deployments using configuration management tools
• Design and implement automated deployment within all environments—integration, staging, and production environments
• Design, implement, and enforce best practices in DevOps
• Participate with IT Operations Team in routine application support and maintenance
• Monitor error logs on servers using efficient monitoring and analysis tools and troubleshoot system errors
• Monitor the performance of various systems and platforms, analyze incidents, and provide solutions to improve
• Automate deployment, system configurations, and security settings
• Collaborate with developers to make sure new environments meet requirements and conform to best practices
• Provide direct server support during various operations, such as deployment, and general production upgrades and maintenance
• Use source control tools to keep track of changes made to products to maintain versioning
• Work with continuous integration tools with the objective of improving and facilitating continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD)
• Work with all teams to integrate automated tests at multiple levels

• Bachelor’s degree or DEC in Computer Science or equivalent
• 3 years’ experience as DevOps with Git source control, build and release management tools
• Experience with Microsoft and Linux infrastructure, database SQL (MS SQL, MySQL), CI/CD tools, scripting languages such as PowerShell, and web technologies (C# .NET)
• Basic knowledge of networking (VLAN, DNS, DHCP)
• Well-versed in IT and the software development lifecycle and up to date on the latest technologies
• Excellent verbal and written skills
• Experience working with agile project management tools like Jira
• Must be detail oriented with high degree of accuracy and ability to multitask
