SOMMAIRE

Sous la supervision directe de la direction technique, et en collaboration étroite avec la direction de l'animation, le/la directeur·trice technique de l'animation sera responsable du développement des aspects techniques des pipelines d'animation (animation gameplay, animation scripted events, animation cinématique, animation faciale), d’animation technique, de cinématique et de rigging.

RESPONSABILITÉS

  • Collaborer avec les équipes d'animation, d’animation technique, de rigging et de programmation pour concevoir et maintenir des pipelines d'animation et de rigging efficaces, adaptés aux besoins du projet et du studio;
  • Veiller à l'intégration optimale du pipeline d'animation dans les moteurs de jeu ou logiciels d'animation, en respectant les standards techniques de l'industrie;
  • Transmettre aux animateurs et aux différentes équipes artistiques les contraintes techniques et expliquer leurs finalités;
  • Agir comme correspondant entre les équipes de programmation et d'animation;
  • Développer et optimiser des outils pour améliorer et faciliter le travail des animateurs, des animateurs techniques, des artistes personnages et des riggers;
  • Préparer les personnages et assets pour l’animation, y compris le rigging (configuration des squelettes et des contrôles d'animation);
  • Configurer et mettre en œuvre les simulations physiques et les vêtements associés aux assets animés;
  • Configurer les outils d'animation faciale;
  • Superviser l’optimisation des données, des graphes d’animation et de l’architecture technique;
  • Produire et / ou mettre à jour la documentation et les vidéos didactiques concernant les outils, les méthodes, la formation et les procédures de référence;
  • Fournir un soutien de première ligne aux équipes d’animateurs, d’animateurs techniques et de riggers au quotidien pour résoudre les problèmes techniques;
  • Apporter son appui aux équipes de gestion de la production pour aider à l’évaluation qualitative et quantitave des livrables atteignables par les équipes animations, animation technique et rigging. Fournir des recommandations quant au dimensionnement et à la composition des équipes d’animation, d’animation technique et rigging afin d’atteindre les livrables;
  • Accomplir toutes autres tâches connexes liées à l'animation ou au rigging.

EXIGENCES DU POSTE

  • Diplôme universitaire en génie informatique, animation 3D ou dans un domaine technique connexe, ou expérience équivalente;
  • Minimum 7 ans d'expérience dans l'industrie du jeu, de préférence en tant que directeur·trice technique d'animation ou dans un poste similaire;
  • Minimum 3 ans d'expérience en tant que directeur·trice technique d'animation ou de personnage;
  • Avoir livré au moins 2 jeux, avec une expérience de travail sur un jeu publié, de la conception à la sortie, de préférence sur un titre AAA pour console;
  • Expérience avec des systèmes tels qu'Unreal Engine (préféré), 3ds Max, Maya, et Houdini (un atout);
  • Expertise des systèmes d'animation en temps réel, des formats de fichiers et des données utilisés dans l'animation;
  • Expérience requise avec MEL / Python / Maxscript ou des systèmes similaires;
  • Connaissance approfondie des environnements de production;
  • Intérêt et expérience dans le développement de technologies de jeu (moteur, outils, animation, réseau, etc.) et développement multiplateforme, un atout;
  • Compréhension des méthodes d'optimisation des ressources pour les moteurs de jeu;
  • Connaissance des contraintes technologiques sur différentes plateformes;
  • Excellentes compétences organisationnelles, autonomie et esprit d'initiative;
  • Flexibilité, ouverture d'esprit et capacité à collaborer efficacement;
  • Solides compétences en leadership et expérience en gestion d'employés.

Lieu de travail

Pour ce poste, une présence au bureau de Montréal, Canada est requise un minimum de deux jours par semaine.
