Qualifications: A full-time or part time daytime student at Sheridan College with a GPA of at least 2.5, and not undergoing a co-op term between the months of September and April.

Term: August 2024, to April 30, 2025

Location: Trafalgar Campus in-office / travel to all campuses for events

Commitments: 10 - 15 hours per week

Pay Rate: $16.80 / hour.

SCOPE AND NATURE

Sheridan Student Union Inc. (SSUI) is a student-led organization representing all full-time and day part-time fee-paying students at Sheridan College. In conjunction with the Marketing, Communications, and Creative Department, and reporting directly to the Manager, Creative, the Videographer will assist in brainstorming and planning video content in relation to all SSU initiatives. The Videographer is required to have a working knowledge of editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, and AfterEffects. They are expected to follow the timelines set by management and will aid in preparing video content for various SSU mediums, including but not limited to Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The SSU Creative Video Editor is responsible for creating and editing video content for the SSU’s Marketing, Communications, and Creative Department. The types of videos can vary from the promotion of events, coverage of events, promotion of services, interviews with students and SSU staff, etc. The Videographer will work closely with the Manager, Creative, other Creative Team members, and management to brainstorm and execute SSU video content. The Videographer will be expected to work in a respectful manner with all SSU staff, volunteers, Sheridan College staff and Sheridan College students.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

The Videographer will report to the Manager, Creative. They will work alongside other Creative Video Editors, SSU Photographers, and Junior Designers.

VIDEOGRAPHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

Directing and assisting on in-person shoots and self-directing at events/concerts

Executing assignments from conceptualization to final product

Input music, closed captions, transitions, graphics and effects.

Colour correct and stabilize footage.

Responsible for editing all video content within the assigned due date.

BENEFICIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Experience shooting and editing video content

Understanding of how to light, block, and compose a scene

Demonstrated experience with post-production principles such as editing, transitions, video stabilization, color correction, filters, and audio balancing

Enthusiastic and positive energy

Strong organizational and time management skills

Willingness to travel to and from campuses (Davis, TRC & HMC) as required

Experience with social media, motion graphics, or special effects are assets

Ability to collaborate as part of a team and work independently as needed

Passionate about the student life and community on campus.
