Our client within the Automotive Industry is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join their team.

Job Title: Health and Safety Specialist

Location: Windsor, ON - this position is 100% onsite with travel between multiple locations

Pay Range: $35-38 an hour

What’s the Job?
  • Plan, coordinate and implement comprehensive H&S programs to ensure compliance with all corporate policies and government regulations
  • Manage the multi-site JHSC for the Automotive Research and Development Centre and the Vehicle Completion Centre
  • Monitor changes to H&S legislation and ensure current programs are compliant
  • Chair weekly incident meetings and maintain records for all employees, contract associated and students
  • Co-chair monthly multi-site JHSC incident meetings, audits, coordinate and conduct weekly observation tours
What’s Needed?
  • Post-secondary in H&S, Human Resources, Labour Relations, Risk Management
  • Minimum Level 1 H&S Certification registered with WSIB an asset
  • 5-10 of years experience with Occupational H&S, risk management or safety related experience in construction or industrial
  • 2-5 years experience within a unionized environment
  • Strong project management, organizational, teamwork, written and verbal communication skills.
