Soutenir les activités des affaires médicales ayant trait aux produits du portefeuille en Néphrologie. Fournir un apport scientifique juste, équilibré et objectif et de l’éducation sur l’état de la maladie, le contexte thérapeutique et les produits du portefeuille de néphrologie. Élargir de façon continue son expertise médicale et scientifique par l’interaction directe avec ses pairs, avec les principaux leaders d’opinion, les investigateurs et les autres professionnels de la santé en vue d’améliorer les résultats chez les patients.


Responsabilités :

  • Fournir une expertise scientifique et médicale en lien avec les produits en néphrologie, à partir de la première phase de développement et tout au long de leur cycle de vie
  • Émettre des avis stratégiques de nature scientifique et médicale lors de l’élaboration des plans médicaux et généraux pour les marques et les lancements de produits
  • Soutenir l’élaboration et la mise en œuvre des activités des Affaires médicales visant les produits en néphrologie tout au long de leur cycle de vie, y compris (sans toutefois s’y limiter) les études de phase IV, les études parrainées par des investigateurs, l’analyse et l’interprétation des données, les publications et d’autres projets médicaux
  • Participer à des conférences et à des congrès scientifiques pour maintenir ses connaissances à jour et se tenir au fait des projets de recherche menés dans le domaine
  • Entretenir des relations avec les principaux leaders d’opinion, les investigateurs ainsi que les consultants et les fournisseurs externes
  • Fournir des avis médicaux et réaliser des revues scientifiques en lien avec les activités touchant les produits, notamment celles des équipes de l’Information médicale, de la Pharmacovigilance, des Affaires réglementaires, de l’Accès aux marchés, de la Formation médicale continue et des fonctions commerciales (y compris la révision du matériel promotionnel)
  • Fournir une expertise médicale, de la formation et du soutien scientifiques aux diverses équipes dont les activités concernent les produits
  • Déclarer les renseignements sur l’innocuité des produits, les plaintes qualité et les commentaires de la clientèle selon la formation sur les procédures en vigueur


Qualifications et compétences clés :

  • Diplôme en médecine, doctorat ou doctorat en pharmacie, avec plus de cinq ans d’expérience dans l’industrie pharmaceutique combiné à une expérience en recherche clinique avec un focus en affaires médicales de préférence (rôle de conseiller médical)
  • Connaissance des études cliniques, de la conduite et des opérations reliées aux études cliniques, la règlementation, l’exécution et être familier avec la biostatistique
  • Compétence reconnue dans le domaine thérapeutique de la néphrologie et capacité démontrée à comprendre des données et des concepts scientifiques complexes
  • Aptitude marquée pour la communication et la présentation d’exposés, et capacité à expliquer des données et des concepts scientifiques complexes à différents auditoires
  • Connaissance approfondie du système de santé canadien, des lignes directrices de la Conférence internationale sur l’harmonisation (CIH), des bonnes pratiques cliniques et des autres lignes directrices sur la déontologie dans l’industrie pharmaceutique tels que les directives Rx&D et le code PAAB.
  • Compréhension approfondie de la pharmacovigilance au sein de l’industrie pharmaceutique canadienne
  • Solide sens des affaires, y compris une bonne connaissance des outils technologiques, du milieu des affaires et du marché
  • Sens de l’organisation et des priorités, capacité à faire preuve d’efficacité dans un environnement en constante évolution. Capacité à travailler seul et en groupe, de manière collégiale, et à collaborer avec des équipes interfonctionnelles et des réseaux internes et externes
  • Excellentes aptitudes pour les relations interpersonnelles (y compris le réseautage), intégrité inébranlable, esprit d’équipe (y compris la capacité à agir comme modèle dans différents contextes) et souci de la clientèle, essentiels
  • Bonne aptitude de leadership et de pensée stratégique
  • Connaissance des stratégies d’affaires et des implications en soutien aux décisions et aux plans médical et scientifique

Summary of Purpose:

Support Medical Affairs activities for Nephrology portfolio products. Provide fair balanced, objective, scientific input and education about disease state, therapeutic landscape and Nephrology portfolio product(s). Continuously expand medical and scientific expertise through peer-to-peer interactions with key opinion leaders (KOLs), investigators and other healthcare providers to improve patient outcomes.


Medical Advisor Responsibilities:

  • Provision of scientific and medical expertise for Nephrology portfolio products, beginning in late phase development and throughout the product lifecycle
  • Provision of strategic scientific/medical input in the development of brand medical plans and overall brand plans, including during brand launches
  • Support the development and execution of medical affairs plans for Nephrology portfolio brands throughout their lifecycle, including (but not limited to) late phase studies, Investigator sponsored trials, data analysis/interpretation, publications, and other medical projects
  • Participation in conferences and scientific meetings to maintain knowledge base and keep up-to date awareness of research in the field
  • Relationship building with KOLs, investigators, external consultants and vendors
  • Provision of medical input and scientific reviews to the brand matrix, including Medical Information, Pharmacovigilance, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, CHE and Commercial functions (including the review of promotional documents)
  • Provision of medical expertise and scientific training and support across the Brand matrix
  • Reporting Safety Information, Product Quality Complaint and Customer Feedback as per training on current procedures

Qualifications and Key Competencies:

  • M.D., PhD, or PharmD with more than 5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry with experience in Clinical Research and with a Medical Affairs focus preferred (medical advisor role)
  • Knowledge of clinical trial design, clinical studies operations, regulations, execution and familiarity with Biostatistics
  • Proven knowledge and competencies in the Nephrology therapeutic area and demonstrated ability to comprehend complex scientific data and concepts
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and ability to explain complex scientific data and concepts to a variety of audiences
  • Sound knowledge of the Canadian Healthcare System, ICH guidelines, GCP and other ethical guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry such as R&D guidelines and PAAB code
  • Deep understanding of Canadian pharmaceutical safety reporting and surveillance
  • Strong business acumen, including technology skills, business and market knowledge
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and work effectively in a constantly changing environment. Must be able to work independently and in groups in a collegial manner, including with cross functional teams and internal/external networks
  • Excellent interpersonal skills (including ability to network), strong personal integrity, teamwork abilities (including the ability to serve as a role model for activities) and a customer focus are necessary
  • Good leadership skills and Strategic thinking
  • Knowledge of the business strategies and the business implications of scientific and medical plans and decisions
  • Willingness to travel (20-30% travel time)
