Jungle Scout

The leading all-in-one platform for selling on Amazon, with the mission of providing data & insights to help entrepreneurs and brands grow their businesses.

At Jungle Scout, we are on a mission to build the best Amazon competitive intelligence tools for Amazon sellers and brands.

The Role

Do you enjoy solving complex challenges related to cloud infrastructure and security? Does working with cutting-edge AWS technologies to ensure security and scalability excite you? Are you passionate about optimizing cloud costs and making processes more efficient? Amazing, then you’re the type of person we’re looking for

We’re growing and we are looking to add a Cloud Security Engineer to our fast-paced and customer-oriented Engineering team.

In the Cloud Security Engineer role, you will:

  1. Design, implement, and maintain multi-account AWS environments that promote developer self-service and productivity. You will manage AWS at the enterprise level and implement best-in-class solutions.
  2. Support the creation and management of security controls during SOC2 implementation for our Enterprise application with AWS native security tools like AWS Config, AWS Inspector, AWS Security hub and AWS Cloudtrail. Collaborate with engineering teams to mitigate system vulnerabilities and ensure adherence to security best practices across all of our applications.
  3. Create and maintain IAM policies, ensuring compliance with the principle of least privilege across our multi-cloud setup.
  4. Identify cost optimization opportunities within AWS environments by reengineering systems, optimizing resource allocation, and monitoring costs using Reserved Instances and Savings Plans.
  5. Investigate cost anomaly alerts and work with engineering teams to mitigate impacts. You’ll troubleshoot root causes, such as misconfiguration of resources or rightsizing capacity.
  6. Maintain secure and efficient AWS Native VPN and network configuration across all environments.
  7. Collaborate with engineering to promote best practices in application monitoring, ensuring optimal performance.
  8. Lead incident management efforts by providing expertise during critical incidents to ensure the reliability and security of AWS Infrastructure; conduct post-incident reviews and implement preventive measures.

Who you are:

  1. AWS Knowledge: Deep understanding of AWS services, including Compute (EC2, Lambda, ECS), Databases (RDS, DynamoDB), and Security Services (Inspector, Config, Security Hub).
  2. Security-Driven: With experience in deploying security solutions, you ensure that systems are secure and vulnerabilities are addressed.
  3. Cost Optimization Expert: You’re adept at managing Reserved Instances and Savings Plans, and have hands-on experience identifying and mitigating cost inefficiencies in AWS environments.
  4. Networking and IaC Skills: You’re proficient in Infrastructure as Code (CDK, CloudFormation) and comfortable managing secure network configurations.
  5. Collaborative and Enthusiastic: You thrive in cross-functional teams, especially in a startup-like environment, where your contributions drive key initiatives like SOC2 compliance and cost control.

What you’ll get:

  1. The BEST team: You’ll work alongside the smartest, most passionate, and kindest humans day in and day out making work fun.
  2. Remote-first culture: Jungle Scout has been remote-first since day one. We believe team members should work from the place where they do their best work.
  3. A growth culture We have tons of opportunities for you to elevate your skills and take you to that next step; we are here to help you find the ones that matter most to you through exposure and training.
  4. Ability to make impact Although it’s a highly collaborative culture, team members are empowered to work autonomously and take extreme ownership of their work.
  5. Competitive compensation packages We structure our compensation packages to reward our team members' contributions to our company's success.
  6. Flexible Time Off: With our generous PTO and recognition of local holidays, escape to the beach, recharge mentally, or use your Volunteer Time Off (VTO) to give back through volunteering.
  7. Comprehensive Health Benefits & Retirement Program: We offer comprehensive healthcare and retirement matching plans for eligible employees.
  8. Paid Parental Leave Policy: Jungle Scout values the importance of family and offers a paid parental leave that provides the support and flexibility you need.
