Position Summary: Join our dynamic team as a Tax Manager, where you will lead and manage diverse compilation, tax, and other engagement files. Your role is vital in upholding client relationships, directing staff, and contributing to the firm's growth. We value leaders who exemplify our firm’s values and demonstrate strong technical and leadership skills.
Reporting To: Brad Klassen, Partner
Key Responsibilities:
Client and Leadership
- Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal staff and clients.
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, ensuring effective communication.
- Manage engagements, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
- Act as a mentor and leader, training staff and leading small to large engagements.
- Provide value-added consultative services and identify sales opportunities.
Technical
- Manage and review compilation engagements.
- Assist with special tax projects.
- Demonstrate expertise in personal and corporate tax knowledge.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards and office policies.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Minimum seven years of public accounting or relevant experience.
- Relevant university degree, CPA, or equivalent experience.
- Completed or enrolled in the CPA In-Depth tax course.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and resilience.
- Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous learning.
- Advanced math skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
