Job Description:
As a key part of the Corporate Tax Team, this role contributes to meeting the income tax reporting and compliance obligations of Sun Life and its Canadian subsidiaries. The Associate will be responsible for disseminating tax documents within the tax department as well as assisting with tax documentation filing and retention.
What will you do?
- Assist with the accurate and timely preparation of federal and provincial income tax returns
- Prepare and process monthly tax instalments with Canadian tax authorities
- Book journal entries related to tax payments and provisions
- Assist with maintaining reconciliations and tracking schedules
- Interact with financial staff in other areas regarding information needed to ensure tax compliance and reporting
What do you need to succeed?
- Background in accounting and/or tax
- Organizational skills and process oriented
- Good understanding of compliance process
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
Preferred
- Knowledge of Taxprep is an asset
- Working knowledge of general ledger (preferably SAP)
