RothLochston is currently recruiting a Project Manager to join the growing team. The Project Manager will be responsible for the management of project proposals/bids, plans, budgets, and project reporting throughout the project life cycle. The role requires a sound working knowledge of the technical specifications and standards used throughout the construction industry. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Promote and practice company values in nurturing a safe, creative, innovative, and enjoyable work environment.
  2. Provide leadership to ensure that employees adhere to site and company health and safety standards.
  3. Attend toolbox talks, weekly safety meetings, conduct field visits, safe work observations, and participate in HSE inspection programs.
  4. Ensure all products meet or exceed the quality standards as specified in the client’s specifications and the company’s Quality Management System.
  5. Review and interpret contract documents and construction drawings.
  6. Develop detailed project plans and operating budgets for the project teams.
  7. Identify, develop, and assist implementation of work processes and procedures.
  8. Monitor and review project budgets/plans on a weekly, monthly basis and prepare reports for project management.
  9. Monitor personnel loading to projects with Superintendents.
  10. Requisition and schedule materials, tools, and equipment for projects.
  11. Develop and manage project schedules and review project progress.
  12. Modify and monitor any changes in project scope, clearly prepare and define the scope of projects.
  13. Modify and adjust project schedules to reflect changes in project scope. Steward the change management process on all assigned projects.
  14. Participate in staff training programs.
  15. Develop and participate in post project completion reviews/lessons learned.
  16. Competency in budgets, estimating, project planning, cost control and analytical reporting.
  17. Keep open communication channels among all project stakeholders.
  18. Teambuilding - resolve conflicts, project success and confidence, listen attentively, observe, coach, mentor and advise project supervisors/team members, lead by example, seek participation.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Post-secondary training in engineering or engineering technology.
  2. Minimum of five years of progressive management experience, preferably in a construction environment.
  3. Knowledge/experience in a heavy industrial setting would be considered an asset.
  4. Proficiency with reading and understanding mechanical specifications and tender documents.
  5. Proficient in the use and application of computers and related software including project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and Safety Management Systems.
  6. Strong leadership, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  8. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  9. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
