Network Security Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Network Security Engineer for our client in the federal government. This role involves migrating older Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) to Cisco Firepower IPS (Cisco Next-Generation Intrusion Prevention System - NGIPS).
Responsibilities:
- Migrate existing IPS platforms to Cisco Firepower IPS.
- Collaborate with the internal resource managing the transition from Cisco ASA (old firewalls) to Cisco FTD (new firewalls).
- Utilize the IPS capabilities of the new Cisco Firepower Firewalls effectively.
- Ensure seamless integration and functionality of the new IPS system.
- Provide expert knowledge and support throughout the migration process.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience as a Network Security Engineer.
- Proven experience with Cisco Firepower IPS (Cisco Next-Generation Intrusion Prevention System - NGIPS).
- Strong background in migrating older IPS platforms to Cisco IPS.
- Familiarity with Cisco ASA and Cisco FTD firewalls.
- In-depth knowledge of network security principles and practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Enhanced security clearance or higher.
