Field based - Protection and Control Commissioning Tech/Specialist/Engineer Phasor Engineering Inc. is a dynamic Alberta-based company specializing in engineering, design, and testing/commissioning of medium to high voltage electrical facilities. We provide cost-effective, efficient solutions to power system engineering, and engage in projects from preliminary engineering through to commissioning and startup. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Senior Protection and Control Testing Engineer, P&C Technologist / Specialist / Technician to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a field‑based position, and extended shifts out of town are required. Responsibilities Testing and commissioning of power system protection & control schemes in the utility, power generation, and oil & gas industry Testing of microprocessor relays/IEDs with secondary relay injection test sets SCADA points testing Read and interpret drawings and troubleshoot/resolve technical issues Report preparation and submission Assist with generation of commissioning startup procedures or work instructions Ensure compliance with all safety practices as per corporate, client, and industry standards Initiate and/or respond to customer inquiries, discuss trouble details and confirm resolutions Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Technician Journeyman Ticket, or Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma from a recognized institute 2+ years experience in Protection and Controls testing within MV and HV power systems Strong interpersonal and communication skills with extreme attention to detail Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite and strong computer skills Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously Strong analytical, risk assessment, and problem‑solving skills Ability to work for extended periods out of town Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Background checks and drug/alcohol pre‑employment testing required Requirements Must be legally able to work in Canada; visa sponsorship not available for this position.
