The Animal Hospital of Oakville is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic full-time manager to support clinic operations in our dynamic hospital in Oakville Our current manager is moving out of province, resulting in our upcoming vacancy.

The Animal Hospital of Oakville is a staple of the community, dedicated to caring for our neighbourhood's feline and canine companions, and supporting and educating the humans who love them. Providing excellent medical care for our patients is our mission, but we also prioritize taking care of our incredible teammates. ABOUT THE ROLE:

The successful candidate will oversee the smooth and efficient operations of the hospital and ensure an awesome client experience while maintaining a great team morale. The manager must have business and human resources acumen and be able to drive revenue growth and execute on expense control.

The manager must embody above and beyond client service, empathetic communication and they must continue to set and uphold the standard for the team. The successful candidate will spend a portion of time allocated to administrative duties and team leadership, the remaining time working alongside a team.

Some responsibilities are:
● Oversee smooth and efficient operations of the clinics
● Recruit train and motivate staff
● Handle human resource issues when they arise and escalate to the Operations Director when needed
● Work with the Operations Director to create and execute the vision for the clinics
● Help grow the clinics in both revenue and new clientele
● Create action plans for the clinic and staff to maximize success
● Prepare regular reports on a weekly basis

AS OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE YOU WILL HAVE:
● An abiding love of animals and a deep understanding of the human/animal bond
● Previous experience as manager, preferably in the veterinary, retail, or healthcare industry
● Experience with revenue and labour budgets and drafting/managing schedules
● Good management and leadership skills with the ability to set priorities, delegate, motivate and develop the hospital and team to become top performers in the community
● An approach that puts the client first at all times and an experienced people manager, who has hired, trained and held people accountable for their performance
● Developed emotional intelligence to be able to contain emotional situations around the clinic
● Solid communication skills, both when dealing with clients and interpersonal relationships
● Collaboration skills demonstrating a strong desire to build rapport and solid relationships with team members, clients and the community
● Financial skills to understand the needs of the business and the importance of growing revenues and controlling expenses
● Passion for what you do every day Enthusiasm, energy and a positive attitude are a must

Managers are the backbone of the clinic, and they will be fully supported by the Operations Director, with access to different resources including continuous training and development to support and ensure their success in managing the clinic.
