Intermediate Structural Engineer

Intermediate Structural Engineer DRA Global Limited is an international multi‑disciplinary engineering, project delivery and operations management group, predominantly focused on the mining, minerals and metals industry. The Group has an extensive track record spanning almost four decades across a wide range of commodities, with deep expertise in mining, minerals and metals processing and related non‑process infrastructure such as water and energy solutions. DRA covers all major mining centers with offices across Africa, the Middle East, North and South America, USA and Asia‑Pacific. The position is based in the Toronto or Montreal office. Responsibilities Perform engineering calculations, analysis and design using governing codes and standards to be fit for purpose. Produce engineering reports and plans. Provide drawings and/or sketches for designs to be incorporated in drawings by 3D modelers and drafters. Research design options through trade‑off studies. Review, signoff and stamp Issued for Construction drawings. Provide input into Engineering Design Criteria. Manage multiple assignments independently. Integrate design information between disciplines and specialist consultants. Carry out site investigations and field tests and report findings. Manage schedule, cost and scope of design components on the project. Provide discipline‑specific inputs into the Change Management process. Ensure Quality standards (Industry, DRA, Client, best practice) are adhered to. Liaise and coordinate with the client, project manager and engineers of other disciplines. Communicate respectfully and professionally in writing and speaking. Keep stakeholders informed on status of technical design aspects. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. Professional Engineering Registration. Minimum 7+ years of Structural Steel Design experience. Knowledge of static and dynamic structural design using latest 3D software (SAP2000, STAAD or ROBOT).
