Your Role

As Developer, your role will include developing custom websites, automation, and integrations for a wide range of platforms and custom digital experiences. This role is part of our digital team which includes strategy, UX, AI, and creative talent across Canada.


You will have a comprehensive understanding of the current state (and future) of the web—and surrounding technology—and also a sharp sense of design, and user-experience. You’re comfortable reading, writing, and reviewing JavaScript, building your own front-end libraries and creating task automation jobs to speed up development. You are customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, and are skilled using data and creating insights to make decisions. You are a leader in the never-ending process of improving digital experiences for our clients.


What you will do…

  • Develop digital experiences using HTML, CSS, and jQuery/JavaScript, within various CMS environments and web applications.
  • Build and deploy HTML emails using various CRM and email delivery platforms.
  • Produce code that is compliant with current ADOA and WCAG accessibility requirements.
  • Understand and adhere to the technical best practices.
  • Help non-technical team members understand the impact of technology on the realization of innovative communications.
  • Being a thought leader in a way that elevates creative capabilities from a development perspective.
  • Working with partner agencies and project managers to support agile workflow methodology


The Ideal Candidate has:

  • A passion for web development
  • 2 to 4 year of web development experience working on large digital projects
  • Good working knowledge of the functions and limitations of jQuery /JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, HTML5 and CSS
  • Experience developing and authoring various CMS platforms incl. Contentful, Adobe, Wordpress, Drupal, Sitecore (authoring)
  • Experience with Mailchimp
  • Accessibility knowledge (WCAG 2.0 Level AA)
  • Ability to translate wireframes/designs into functional webpages
  • Experience in using source code/version control systems such as GIT
  • Responsive website development experience
  • Effective communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to work in a team or independently
  • Proven ability to simplify and distill complex problems into intuitive and elegant experiences
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization
  • Ability to participate in the full lifecycle of design and development—including ideation, prototyping, development, backwards compatibility, failovers, validation, and user-testing
  • Note: This is NOT a React role
