Cyber Security Analyst

LeverageTek is actively seeking a Senior Cyber Security Analyst for a permanent position with its Ottawa/Toronto based customer.
Work Location
The successful candidate will be required to work on-site at the customer headquarters in Ottawa or Toronto, on a hybrid basis.
Security Requirement
Must be eligible for a Government of Canada Secret Level II Clearance.
Key Tasks
- Developing and enhancing methodologies around detection engineering, cyber threat hunting, data source management
- Partnering with IT and business risk owners, develop requirements, strategies, and robust frameworks to enhance the overall cyber security program
- Providing guidance, leadership, and education/awareness regarding security initiatives to support business risk owners to embed security management processes
- Providing advisory services to IT and business areas, and assisting in the writing and review of organizational security policies to support internal control (access management, contingency planning and testing, security awareness, intrusion detection, patch management, anti-virus, etc.)
- Mentor Junior and intermediate analysts and lead group analysis sessions
Key Qualifications
- Must have 8-10 years experience in a combination of information security, information risk management or information systems
- Strong background and experience in security operations including, creating and providing input into Cyber Security program policies, procedures and frameworks
- Experience and background providing cyber security related presentations to internal (clients/users) and external (vendors/partners)
Qualifications
- Collaborating with Financial Institutes to resolve cyber security issues or policy violations
- Industry certifications (GCIA, GCIH, OSCP, CISSP, CISA, etc.)
- Knowledge of federal government priorities in relation to financial sector policy
Assets
- Familiarity with the Criminal Code of Canada as it applies to cyber issues
- Experience in secure procurement of security technologies and architecture
- Post-secondary education, or equivalent experience in computer science, information systems, or related fields
- Experience with Python and PowerShell scripting
