What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be joining the AO-DBA Production Application Support team within CIBC’s Platform Shared Services group. As a Senior Manager, Production Application Support, you will be responsible for day to day database application support for various lines of business within CIBC. You will oversee and monitor existing CIBC database applications to ensure all production and enhancement related issues are attended to across various platforms. You’ll work closely with your team to ensure appropriate delivery of database shared services, and ensure adherence to standards and operating procedures.

How You’ll Succeed
Understanding Requirements – Track and analyze operating environment for specified services and implement corrective actions as needed. Work with clients and internal partners to determine, negotiate and manage services to the agreed standards. Monitor service levels to identify opportunities for improvement and recommend appropriate solutions.
Expertise in Incident/Problem resolution – Work closely with technology and business partners in identifying issues and resolving them with priority.
People Leadership – Lead and coach a high performing and dynamic team of individuals. Direct, motivate, and develop your team, maximizing their contributions and professional growth. Share knowledge and collaborate to come up with effective solutions to problems.
Relationship Management – Work closely with clients and business partners to develop, test, and implement application programs. Impact and improve the business by advising application owners on the technology possibilities and requirements.

You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering and/or a related field. Agile Product Owner and Scrum Master training would be a plus.
You can demonstrate experience in 5+ years of Oracle, Exadata (RDBMS), MS SQL, Open-Source (PostgreSQL and Mongo DB) database support. You can also meet 3-5 years of experience in the database application support needs of various business units. As a Sr. Manager you will be responsible for solutions review, budgeting, cost recovery, resource planning, project implementation & vendor management.
It is an asset if you have experience with problem and incident management, managing changes to the production environment and technology-based assets of the organization, assessing technical information to develop solutions that will improve process effectiveness and efficiency.
