We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to join the team of a leading precision manufacturer in the Aerospace sector. This role offers the opportunity to work with various manual machinery while producing high-precision components.

POSITION OVERVIEW As a detail-oriented Manual Machinist you will operate conventional machine tools including lathes, milling machines, precision grinders, gear cutting equipment and drilling machines. The successful candidate will also be responsible for producing precision components according to detailed specifications while maintaining the highest quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Set up and operate various manual machines including lathes, mills, grinders, and gear cutting equipment to manufacture precision parts
Interpret and work from complex blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machining specifications, tolerances, and sequences
Utilize precision measuring instruments (micrometers, vernier calipers, height gauges, optical comparators) to verify component dimensions and ensure conformance to specifications
Perform in-process quality checks and maintain detailed documentation of production activities
Select and utilize appropriate cutting tools, tool holders, boring bars, fixtures, and machine accessories
Collaborate with engineering, quality control, and production teams to resolve technical issues and maintain production flow
Maintain equipment in optimal condition through regular cleaning and basic preventative maintenance
Support cross-training initiatives to develop proficiency across multiple machine types
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 2 years' experience operating manual machine tools in a manufacturing environment
High school diploma or GED required
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings with strong understanding of GD&T
Experience with aerospace components preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, and fixture requirements
Strong mathematical and analytical skills

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Physical capability to handle tools and materials (up to 50 lbs)
Strong mechanical aptitude
