Instrumentation Engineer

Agilus is recruiting for a Owner's Representative Engineer - Instrumentation in the refinery industry in Gibbons, Alberta.Responsibilities:Support/advise project specific EPC engineers in all key areas of instrumentation technology, including the sizing and selection of flow, level, temperature, pressure measurement devices, valves (on/ff, control, PSV) and analyzers/fire and gas detection, and SIS related instrumentation and controls.Participate in all Project related Squad Checks, and provide comments to Engineering WorkCollaborate with PSM and SIS specialists in reviewing Safety Integrity Levels (SIL), LOPA and plant HAZOPs;Collaborate with Fire and Gas SMEs in reviewing changes to the plant’s F&G Safety System;Provide active support for the implementation of instrumentation scope during turnarounds, short notice outages or on-the-run;Participates in field walks and completion walks. Takes part in redlining exercise as well as reviewing turnover documents and responding to RFIs.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a Registered as Professional Engineer with APEGA or equivalent;10 years of experience or more in an operating plant, refinery preferred; maintenance experience is an asset;Sound knowledge of codes and standards related to instrumentation including IEC 61511, CSA, NFPA, PIP, ISA, etc., and knowledge of flow measurement standards (AGA, API, ASME etc.);Previous design and troubleshooting experience of various analyzers systems including sample handling systems, lag time calculations and sample probes;Demonstrated experience of working effectively and collaboratively within cross-functional teams;Previous experience leading technical reviews to ensure instrumentation meets design specifications, codes and standards;Total rewards:Competitive compensationIts a one year contract positionInterested?Please apply directly online or by email sthirupathi@agilus.ca
