Senior Cloud Engineer

- with expertise in cloud technologies, DevOps, and infrastructure management

Location Address: Hybrid - coming in on an ad hoc basis for meetings (1 every 2 weeks on Wednesdays) – strong preference for candidates in the GTA

Contract Duration: 1 year

Possibility of extension & conversion to FTE

Must-Have Skills:

1) 8+ years of experience as a software engineer/in IT space, with 5+ years experience in Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure), with at least 1+ year recent experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

2) 8+ years of experience with database technologies (SQL, Cloud SQL, MySQL, MongoDB, SQL Server, GCP/Azure Database Technologies

OR

8+ years of experience with Cloud Managed Development/Services such as Google Cloud Storage

OR

8+ years of experience with virtualized environments (VMWare, Virtual Servers)

3) 8+ years of experience with container-based technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)

4) 1+ years of experience with development languages (Go, Python, etc.)

5) 1+ years of experience with config management tools and Scripting Languages (Ansible, Bash, Groovy)

Nice-To-Have Skills:

1) 1+ years of experience with design, solutioning and mentoring

2) 5+ years of experience in using Infrastructure as Code tooling Like Terraform.

2) 5+ years of experience in the use of CI/CD Tools

3) Experience with Cloud Native Platforms, particularly Kubernetes, and associated technologies (e.g., Istio, Envoy, Anthos, Kustomize)

4) Unix administration skills

Education:

Bachelor (equivalent or higher) degree in computer science or engineering/mathematics discipline
