About the Opportunity

In collaboration with the Daycare Manager, the full-time Early Childhood Educator will assist the Daycare Centre to prepare our infants, toddlers, and pre-school children of today to become our next generation of Ktunaxa professionals, tradespeople, parents, chiefs, councillors, artisans and more.

Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide quality childcare and plan age-appropriate educational activities to engage children aged 1-3 years in learning.
  • Help children complete daily tasks and routines to gain independence and provide feedback to build self-esteem.
  • Function as a member of our cohesive, positive, flexible, and exuberant team, including staff, management, parents, and community members.
More About You

In order to qualify for the Early Childhood Educator role, you must have an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certification and license to practice. You should also have up-to-date immunization records and a valid CPR and First Aid Certificate. Proof of a clear criminal record including a vulnerable sector check is required. Preference will be given to candidates with previous experience working with children and developing learning activities. Food Safe certification is also an asset.

Hourly wage from $22-28 per hour will commensurate with experience and qualifications and includes a favorable benefits package and pension plan.

Preference will be given to candidates of Ktunaxa or other Indigenous ancestry, and ʔaq̓am encourages applicants to self-identify within your application.
