HNW Underwriter

This role can be performed remotely, but there may be a need to visit our Halifax and West Malling offices from time to time.

The purpose of the role will be to actively contribute and assist the HNW department in achieving the budgeted new business GWP, retention, and rate strength targets while providing first-class service.

What will I be doing?

1. Manually underwriting quotations, transacting new business, underwriting renewals, and adjustments.
2. Actively contributing to the profitability and retention targets of the HNW department.
3. Manage own portfolio of work in accordance with agreed service, technical, output standards, accuracy, and TCF requirements.
4. Ensuring an excellent working knowledge of the products, procedures, underwriting guides, and MI is achieved.
5. Actively support projects, taking responsibility for areas of expertise.
6. Assist with referrals, coaching, and mentoring of junior team members.

1. Have strong MI and analytical skills.
2. Are able to work collaboratively with other HNW teams.
3. Have proven experience within HNW or Personal Lines insurances.
4. Have the ability to act as a coach/mentor.
5. Have the ability to develop and sustain relationships with internal and external parties.
6. Cert CII or working towards Dip CII qualifications.
