Your Role on our Team:

The Estimator is responsible for providing support on all costing, budgeting, tenders and contracts for all related construction projects (Low-Rise and Hi-Rise). In this role, you will:

  1. Assist in compiling and coordinating drawings and specifications in accordance with the tender documents;
  2. Facilitate cost control in design development budgets.
  3. Prepare, monitor, and update construction budgets.
  4. Support in value engineering of new details, design, and products.
  5. Prepare and review construction cost estimates from initial design stage to final working drawings.
  6. Prepare and manage tender packages which include scopes of work and tender documentation for the trades.
  7. Prepare the tender analysis based on submitted tenders from the Trades.
  8. Preparation of contract documents.
  9. Research new products and materials, for the purpose of cost-saving, efficiencies, and use of sustainable alternatives.
  10. Other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job, as requested by management.

We would like you to have:

  • University Degree (Civil Engineering, Architectural or Engineering degree or related discipline) or a College Diploma (Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technologist or related discipline).
  • A minimum of two to five (2-5) years of relevant work experience in construction as an Estimator.
  • Low-Rise wood frame construction background would be considered an asset.
  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Outlook On Screen Takeoff computer programming is an asset.
  • Newstar ERP System Knowledge of residential construction (single-family residential) Occupational Health and Safety Act.
