Health Canada Counsellor Jobs Details:
  • You will have to answer several phone calls, chats and identify the nature of incoming calls and texts.
  • You need to provide an immediate support to the clients psychologically.
  • You will have to assess the needs of clients and conduct an assessment for risks for referral to mental health professonals.
  • You will have to provide information and advice on various programs to assist the client so that they can make a decision.
  • You need to provide effective case management.

You should have a Master’s degree in social work, counselling, psychology or sociology.

Experience required:
  • You should have an exprtince of client case management.
  • You should have psycho-social assessment, vounselling and crisis intervention.
  • You should have experience in building and maintaining effective working relationship with various clients, mental health and other professional counsellors.
  • You should be adept in telephone and chat counselling for effective service.
  • You should have hands-on-experience for working within an employee assistant program model.
Skills required:
  • Ability to handle stress under odd working situations.
  • Sound communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in team.
  • Manage critical incident stress management.
  • String empathy and listening skills.
  • Analytical thinking
  • Ability to decide swiftly.
Language requirements:

This job requires language proficiency and some assessments like Bilingual Imperative CBC/CBC, CCC/CCC and BBB/BBB.

Operational requirements:

You should have reliability status security clearance to get this job.
