Accounting Manager

Our client, a key player in shaping environments through planning, design, and architecture, is currently seeking an Accounting Manager to join their team. This role is critical for leading financial operations with integrity, efficiency, and vision. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic financial leader with a proven track record of success in managing accounting teams and processes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliations.
- Efficiently manage cash resources and banking relationships.
- Drive collections efforts and manage aging accounts.
- Provide exceptional leadership and HR support to the accounting team.
- Engage in Management Committee activities, maintaining meeting minutes.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; support end-of-year reviews.
- Liaise with external partners including corporate accountants, financial advisors, banks, and insurance and benefits providers.
- Oversee payroll, ensure compliance with WSIB, and administer group insurance.
- Lead corporate budgeting processes and contribute to financial forecasting and analysis.
- Support recruitment, staff evaluations, and professional development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA designation preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a professional or consulting office environment.
- Demonstrated proficiency in accounting software (Ajera/Deltek or similar ERP systems) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- A commitment to fostering a positive team environment and culture.
- Extensive knowledge of regulatory compliance and reporting standards in the accounting field.
- Proven ability to adapt to evolving technologies and industry trends to optimize financial processes and procedures.
