Overview:

Our client, an organization within the Saskatchewan government, is undertaking a major business transformation initiative aimed at improving service delivery. This is anticipated to be a 5 to 7 year program covering all business areas including Operations, Client Services, Finance, Corporate Services, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, and Business Intelligence.

The Project Manager will be required to provide services full-time, primarily on-site at the client’s Regina offices. This is initially a 3-year contract with possibilities to extend for the duration of the program deliverables.

Description:

  • Work collaboratively with the existing Project Management team, assigned to workstreams within the project, and with the Core Project Team members, which includes representatives from the business unit, IT, and Organizational Change Management, to ensure alignment in project goals and successful delivery of the project.
  • Work closely with vendor partners and be accountable for leading a cohesive “One team” approach in the overall delivery of the project.
  • Manage the external vendors in their delivery of solutions and services and works with external organizations and agencies to define and manage the exchange of information as necessary for a project.
  • Manage the entire project lifecycle and develop project plans, allocate resources, manage budgets, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Ensure the project delivers the specified outcomes and meet quality expectations.
  • Effectively identify and manage risk and adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Assign clear roles and responsibilities across the project team and provide effective oversight of deliverables and tasks.
  • Work with the business to articulate the project benefits and manage the project to ensure the benefits will be realized.
  • Maintains effective communication with stakeholders with reports on the progress and performance of projects, escalating as required.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational frameworks, standards, practices, and processes and leverage the standard enterprise tools in the delivery of the project.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation in compliance with existing standards.
  • Any other project management related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years direct and proven experience delivering on large scale business and information technology focused projects or programs.
  • Project management education and/or certifications (PMP).
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of proven vendor management experience.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of proven experience managing cross functional project teams
  • Experience managing predictive, agile, and hybrid projects.
  • Proficient with project management software.
  • Strong leadership abilities to guide and motivate cross functional teams through change and transformation.
  • Expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risk associated with business transformation projects.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, management, and communication skills with a strong ability to collaborate and communicate effectively and professionally with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Proven project and resource planning capabilities.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex problems and find innovative solutions.
  • Experience managing the implementation of SaaS cloud solutions would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices that will inform advice and recommendations for the work.
  • Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and productively address concerns.
  • Proven experience working on and completing projects of a similar nature and complexity.
