Maintenace Supervisor

Our leading mining client is looking for a Maintenance Supervisor to join their team. The selected candidate will oversee and guide the maintenance team in delivering safe, efficient, and cost-effective maintenance solutions for our assets. Responsibilities include providing direction to tradespeople, prioritizing maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe workplace, and managing resources effectively.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and lead maintenance crews in managing mobile plant and equipment on site, ensuring adherence to safety and operational protocols.
- Optimize resource allocations to meet planned and unplanned maintenance requirements.
- Identify and address hazards and risks through regular inspections and audits, maintaining compliance with HSE standards.
- Mentor and develop team members, setting clear expectations and providing constructive feedback.
- Enforce performance standards and disciplinary procedures as necessary.
- Monitor down day activities for quality and compliance.
- Review mechanical repairs and services to ensure adherence to maintenance standards.
- Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee the development and implementation of maintenance-related procedures.
- Ensure timely removal of unsafe equipment from service.
- Identify and address training needs within the team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Proficiency in mobile plant maintenance processes.
- Basic knowledge of various trades and equipment.
- Strong leadership and performance management abilities.
- Flexibility in scheduling and task management.
- Understanding of contract management and relevant safety/environmental legislation.
- Experience in leading and supporting multidisciplinary teams.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and follow-up.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate with leadership to achieve project goals.
- Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of experience in mining or heavy industrial construction.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership or planning role.
- Proficiency in JDE or equivalent ERP system preferred.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Journeyman ticket with relevant industry experience.
- Additional training in team management and leadership preferred.
- Commitment to a safety-focused culture and vaccination preference for employees.
- Work schedule: 7 on / 7 off, rotating 12-hour shifts (days and nights).
- Preference for local candidates near Sudbury, Ontario.
