Job Description

Mission:

As an Electrical Engineer or Candidate to the Engineering Profession (CEP) in protection and control (P&C), you will participate in the design of high-level diagrams, development of the protection philosophy, and contribute to large-scale electrical energy power projects. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment and develop additional skills through collaborating with seasoned professionals, namely in the framework of hydropower projects (stations) with our client, Hydro-Québec or on substation, hydroelectric power station, and renewable energy projects with numerous clients across Canada. You will be able to work in a hybrid setting, based out of one of our offices in Quebec (Sherbrooke, Granby, Longueuil, or Saguenay areas).

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Design control and protection systems using 2D software (AutoCAD) and CAD (E3)
  2. Prepare project deliverables, including detailed drawings, electrical diagrams, layouts, equipment sizing, etc.
  3. Collaborate with the engineering team members and project managers from other disciplines
  4. Prepare drawings, sketches, and calculations based on provided specifications
  5. Participate in the development of protection and control electrical systems, including single-line, logical and AC three-wire diagrams, DC protection and control diagrams, wiring and device connection drawings, assembly drawings, material lists, and specifications for the manufacturing and on-site installation of control and protection panels
  6. Participate in the development of AC/DC power supply systems, including single-line diagrams, AC/DC load calculations, distribution diagrams, connection drawings for chargers, batteries, inverters, etc.
  7. Participate in site surveys (stations)
  8. Coordinate with engineering disciplines: instrumentation, civil, mechanical, and building to develop optimized and advanced design solutions for station and plant systems
  9. Possibility of occasionally carrying out on-site work (start-up or supervision)
Qualifications
  • University degree in electrical engineering
  • 0 to 5 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of control and protection principles and philosophy (an asset)
  • Experience designing electrical systems (an asset)
  • Fluency in oral and written French
